Infor Nexus, a Cloud Based Supply Chain Platform provider, is actively looking for a Senior Database Administrator with over 5+ years of experience to join our Data Operations team focused on managing mission critical Production data-systems. The Sr DBA’s main objective is to own and manage several DB2 data-systems, both within cloud-based and on-premises data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be results driven, goal-oriented, a leader and possess a strong capability to handle interruptions while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Provide expert level support for various DB2 data-systems.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotation basis to monitor and troubleshoot data-system failures and help resolve the issues.
• Contribute to the evolving architecture of our data services to constantly improve upon scalability, reliability, manageability, and performance.
• Provide hardware architecture and configuration recommendations and drive automation tasks.
• Work with engineering software developers to investigate problems and recommend changes to the data-system infrastructure.
• Work closely with various stakeholders, such as System, Storage, VM and Network Administrators to manage the data-system infrastructure.
• Participate in ongoing corrective and preventative maintenance activities to improve reliability and availability.
• Develop monitoring, alerting and performance metrics for various data-systems.
• Automate development, deployment, and management of various data-services.
• Document designs and procedures for building and managing the data services.
• Ability to follow change management procedures to help promote changes safely to production environments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (in the field of Computer Science/Engineering)
Required Qualifications:
• Experience in designing and implementing large scale data environments with particular attention to maintainability, scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• 3+ years of experience with DB2 LUW
• Designing and implementing database backup policies and procedures.
• Maintaining DB2 HADR standbys, be thorough with HADR failover procedure.
• Maintaining Q Replication, agents, creating subscriptions, troubleshooting the latency issues.
• Create and maintain shell (bash) scripts for monitoring, administration, automation, etc.
• Ownership of the database code deploy process for patches and releases.
• Capacity planning (disk space, I/O, CPU, memory, etc.) to ensure we are properly positioned for growth.
• Join our on-call team rotation to assist in providing the highest level of availability for our customers.
• Facilitating root cause analysis on database issues.
• Managing security of application access to databases.
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands on experience with AWS EC2 instances, S3.
• Experience in writing python (boto3) modules, Terraform & Salt scripts for automation tasks.
• Experience with monitoring/alerting frameworks such as Splunk, Logic Monitor, AWS Cloudwatch, PagerDuty or similar tools is a plus.
• Having experience in Microsoft SQL Server would be a huge plus.
• Having experience in big data database systems such as HBase, Riak, Solr, MongoDB would be a plus.
• Having experience in data warehouse and data lake analytic platforms such as AWS redshift, Databricks would be a plus.
