Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and supplies, ensuring all equipment is ready for procedures.
Assist dentists during various treatments, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring clear images while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, maintaining HIPAA compliance at all times.
Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing dental health.
Support administrative tasks like scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation efficiently.
Uphold aseptic techniques and infection control procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software platforms including Eaglesoft, Dentrix
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding relevant to dental procedures.
Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry as well as specialized fields such as prosthodontics or endodontics.
Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and X-ray machines safely and effectively.
Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes within a dental clinic setting.
Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or front desk assistant to greet patients warmly and coordinate schedules smoothly.
