Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Design Leadership: Develop and execute design concepts that align with client needs and preferences. Lead design presentations and client meetings to communicate design intent effectively. Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and design techniques to inform and inspire your work.
Project Management: Oversee all phases of the design process, including space planning, material selection, and color schemes. Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective completion. Coordinate with contractors, architects, and vendors to ensure design integrity and quality.
Client Relations: Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and exceptional service. Address client feedback and make adjustments to designs as needed. Provide clients with updates and progress reports throughout the project lifecycle.
Team Collaboration: Supervise and mentor junior designers and design assistants. Foster a collaborative work environment and encourage professional development within the design team. Coordinate with other departments, including marketing and sales, to align design efforts with company goals.
Technical Skills: Create detailed design drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings. Develop and manage design documentation and specifications. Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Innovation and Creativity: Introduce and integrate new design ideas and technologies to enhance residential projects. Explore and implement sustainable design practices and eco-friendly materials.
Required Candidate Profile:
Bachelors or masters degree in interior design, Architecture, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of professional experience in residential interior design, with a proven track record of successful projects.
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed for client meetings or project deadlines.
Strong proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
Excellent understanding of color theory, spatial arrangements, and material selection.
Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Professional certification (e. g., NCIDQ, LEED AP) is preferred but not required.
