Design Production Assistant (Full-Time / In-Office)
About Friday Sock Co. / Very Serious Co. We are an established, fast-paced local business in Calgary. We design everything in-house for our flagship brand, Friday Sock Co., and our sister brands. We are seeking a disciplined, high-speed Design Production Assistant to join our team full-time at our Calgary office.
The Reality of the Role: This is a high-volume production role, not a remote creative-concept position. You will work directly under our Senior Designer to finalize technical files and prepare assets for manufacturing and create mockups. We need someone who is fast in Adobe Illustrator, organized, and capable of drawing with technical accuracy.

Location & Commitment:
Location: In-Office at our Calgary office (T2A 6T3).
Schedule: Full-Time (Monday–Friday).
Pace: High turnaround. You must be comfortable managing a heavy daily queue of files and finishing tasks quickly without errors.
Key Responsibilities:
Vector Production: Rapidly creating and manipulating vector graphics for production-ready files.
Technical Drawing: Executing precise illustrations and pattern designs based on established brand guidelines.
Mockups: Preparing product mockups and packaging labels in Photoshop and Illustrator.
File Organization: Adhering to the current organization systems in place in order to keep files easy to navigate and collaborate for other designers and production.
Accuracy: Checking all outputs for accuracy and attention to detail before they are sent for production.
Qualifications:
Adobe Expert: You must be highly skilled and fast in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Production Mindset: You find satisfaction in efficiency and "checking off the list."
Local Resident: You must live in Calgary and be able to work from our office daily.
Reliability: Proven ability to manage a heavy workload independently and meet tight turnaround times
Communication & Organization: Will have to keep documentation of updated work as the day goes on aligning with the current methods of communication.

Updated Portfolio: You must include a link to an easy-to-access, updated portfolio demonstrating your vector graphics and mockup work. Applications without a clear portfolio link will not be reviewed.
Technical Skill Test: Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a timed, 60-minute technical skill test (Illustrator/Vectoring) to demonstrate speed and accuracy.
Salary & Compensation:
Annual Salary: $40,000 – $45,000 (Based on experience and production speed).
Type: Full-time, Permanent.
Probation period: 3 Months
