POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Manager, Development Accounting, this position is responsible for Development Accounting analysis, Construction / Development project cash flows / budgeting / re-forecasting and all job cost / procurement input, and reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Yardi Business Unit Set-up for Development, CapEx and Tenant Construction projects
Input, update and track Development, Construction and Renovation budgets
Support the Development department in Pro-Forma preparation, budgeting and reforecasting
Collaborate with the Development department in the preparation of monthly/quarterly variance reporting. Monitor and reconcile project variances(Budget, purchase orders, cost to date) to ensure financial reporting requirements are met
Development Cash-flow update
Enter Accounting and Procurement Ledger Journal Entries
Calculate cost to complete and PUD/IPP value splits for IFRS valuation purposes
Monthly Bank reconciliations
Monthly HST filing
Prepare working paper files for submission to internal and external auditors
Other duties / projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to understand detailed financials and contractual information
Ability to identify deficiencies, errors and misrepresentations in financial reporting
Ability to apply logic and reasoning when analyzing development projects
College Diploma or Certificate in Finance or Accounting
Minimum 3 years of Development Accounting experience or equivalent
Experience with Residential
Proven verbal and written communication skills
Proven organizational and analytical skills
Experience using Yardi, Hubble, and Argus
Proficient in Word, Intermediate Excel and Outlook
