DEVELOPMENT ACCOUNTANT – New Opportunity: Rochester, NY
As a Development Accountant at Conifer Realty, you will: Maintain the general ledger for multiple development projects involved in rehab/new construction and close out phases. The Development Accountant will be responsible for compiling the project costs and submission of funding requests to the project’s lender and/or agency for reimbursement. All aspects of accounting for Conifer Construction jobs will be maintained by this position. Various reporting and projections will also be a function of the Development Accountant.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Coordinate and compile draw requests from various funding sources for development projects monthly.
Follow up with agencies and/or lenders for timely receipt of funding requests.
Review & approve the project’s payables once funding has been received for weekly check runs. Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations and job cost reports.
Prepare monthly sources & uses reports for development projects.
Prepare timing projections of equity installments & development fee payments to assist in cash flow projections.
Responsible for all accounting and reporting related to Conifer Construction.
Prepare and coordinate 10% test reports.
Interact with project director on draw requests and proper understanding of key components of project and presentation of project’s sources & uses.
Communicate effectively with the loan draw administrators to ensure requests are received, processed and disbursed in a timely manner.
General office administrative duties (data entry, copying, scanning, binding, project follow-up, etc.).
As a successful candidate you will have:
Entry level related accounting experience required, including financial analysis and reporting.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
Experience in housing, affordable housing, construction, banking/lending is helpful.
Excellent, above average Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, v-lookup) required.
Strong MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Yardi experience desired. Other housing industry software programs helpful.
Flexibility to travel to sites, meetings, conferences, training, others as needed.

The salary for this position is $63,000.00 - $73,000.00. The actual compensation may vary depending on a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, location, etc. This range does not include additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
