This is an excellent opportunity for a dietitian to secure a Band 5 Dietetic post working with adult patients within a very friendly, supportive and dynamic team at Whittington Hospital. We are happy to accept applications from dietitians already working in a Band 5 position or a newly qualified dietitian awaiting HCPC registration.
The post covers a variety of both inpatient and outpatient work, as well as health promotion activities and education and training responsibilities for other health care professionals. You will be required to liaise with the wider integrated team, across both community and acute settings, as well as being an active member of the MDT on your assigned wards.
As part of the role, you will be involved in regular audit and development projects, as well as student training. We are committed to being involved in all aspects of teaching, and have regular teaching sessions throughout Whittington Health.
The successful candidate will need excellent communication and time management skills and be a real team player.
Job Summary
To be responsible for providing the nutritional care, including assessment, dietary therapy and monitoring, for an allocated caseload of patients across a number of wards including admissions unit, surgical, and care of older people wards. This will include the assessment, dietary intervention, monitoring and review of patients, both on oral diet and those that are enterally fed.
To provide nutritional assessment and dietary recommendations for patients attending the general dietetic outpatient clinic, cardiac rehabilitation group, antenatal obesity clinic and healthy eating education talks for maternity patients.
To provide nutritional education for a wide variety of staff and patient groups including doctors, nurses and other allied health professionals.
To contribute to the department dietetic student training programme.
