Job Description
Reporting to the Foreman, the Digger Derrick Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the digger derrick. The operator must prioritize safety by managing risks related to the equipment, load, and worksite conditions to ensure optimal performance and adherence to industry standards.

Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
This role involves planning work tasks, assessing equipment suitability for each job, and ensuring proper positioning, setup, and operation of the Digger Derrick
Ensure safe and appropriate operation of the Derrick Digger to maintain a secure work environment
Conduct pre-trip and hazard assessment checks to identify risks and ensure safe equipment and job site conditions
Complete assigned tasks on schedule as directed by the Site Supervisor to maintain project timeline and efficiency
Assist crews with physical tasks as required to support team productivity and project success
Follow hoisting and rigging procedures to ensure safe material handling
Utilize load charts to prevent overloading and ensure safe lifting operations
Perform in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
Operate additional heavy equipment as required to support project needs
What You Bring
2+ years of experience operating a digger derrick trucks in heavy civil construction
Must understand Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and load securement requirements
Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with air brake endorsements and a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
Note: Pre-employment Drug and ******* Testing will be required.
