Do you live on Instagram, dream in content calendars, and believe storytelling can change the world? Freedom Tree is hiring a creative digital communicator to amplify our mission and build an engaged online community of BIPOC mothers.
You won't be scheduling random posts into the void. You'll be crafting real stories — about real women, real communities, and real change happening in Calgary and Sierra Leone. Your content will move people to donate, advocate, and show up.
What you'll be doing:
Creating content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok
Writing newsletters, blog posts, and digital storytelling features
Designing graphics and infographics in Canva
Managing community engagement (yes, actually responding to people
Experimenting with Reels, AI tools, and emerging platforms
Tracking analytics and reporting on what's working
You're a great fit if you:
Are currently in post-secondary or recently graduated (communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or related field)
Have a strong creative eye and can write in a warm, human voice
Know your way around social media (and maybe have a personal brand already)
Work well independently and are comfortable in a remote environment
Are eligible for Canada Summer Jobs (Canadian citizen/PR/refugee, under 30)
What you'll gain: A real portfolio of mission-driven content, hands-on social media strategy experience, Canva Pro access, and weekly one-on-one mentorship with an Executive Director who knows how to tell a compelling story.
