About the Centre/Service
Walkers Rd Preschool is a community non-for-profit sessional kindergarten nestled in the serene woodland neighborhood of Mount Eliza. Our dedicated staff team cater for preschool-aged children and offer an enriching learning environment that nurtures children’s growth and development. For families seeking extended hours, we provide an after-care option. Our kindergarten is run by a dedicated parent committee who volunteer to keep our kindergarten running optimally. Our children are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that all children are capable and resourceful learners who are active contributors to their own learning. We also believe that all children need to feel and be valued as individuals but also within the context of their family and their community. Central to our program is building confidence and self-esteem, a child-centered learning approach, connecting with nature and acknowledgement of Bunurong people the custodians of the land and waters where the preschool is located.

Description
Role Description We are currently looking to employ an inspiring and passionate Diploma Qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be working predominately in our 3YO Kindergarten program alongside our Kindergarten Teacher and Diploma Qualified Educators and in our Extended Care program. As well as supporting the 4YO Bush Kinder program. As a valued member of the Walkers Road Preschool team, you will:
Create Inspiring Learning Environments:Contribute to a vibrant, play-based space that sparks children’s curiosity, creativity, and love of learning.
Collaborate with Dedicated Educators:Work alongside a passionate team of teachers and educators, sharing ideas and learning from each other’s diverse backgrounds to achieve outstanding educational outcomes.
Nurture Children’s Growth:Support each child’s development by being a positive role model, building strong relationships, and applying evidence-based teaching practices.
Who We’re Looking For: We welcome applications from Diploma-qualified educators with at least 2 years of experience, as well as from early career or studying Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs). Preferable knowledge of the sessional kindergarten environment. Remuneration is aligned with the VECTEA 2020 agreement. Days and Hours: Tue: 7:30am - 5:00pm, Thur: 8:30am - 3:45pm, and Fri 7:30am - 5:00pm Total hours: 26.25 hours per week
