Process / Blending / Syrup / Recipe Room Operator
Department: Production – Process/Blending (Recipe)
Reporting to: Shift In-charge – Process (Blending/Recipe)
Work pattern: 3 shifts (rotational)
Location: Factory (Process/Blending Area)
Role purpose
Operate and execute recipe/batching activities as per approved SOPs to deliver consistent, safe, and on-time product batches for filling, with full traceability, hygiene, and minimal losses.
Key responsibilities
1) Recipe execution & batching
• Execute batching as per approved recipe sheet / batch card (ingredient sequence, quantity, mixing time, temperature limits).
• Perform accurate weighing/dispensing of ingredients and record RM lot numbers and quantities.
• Operate process equipment: mixing tanks, agitators, transfer pumps, valves, strainers/filters, PHE/heating-cooling loops (as applicable).
• Ensure correct dissolution, mixing, and holding as per process instructions.
• Prepare batches on time to meet the filling plan and coordinate handover to filling.
2) In-process checks & quality coordination
• Take in-process samples and support QC tests as per frequency (e.g., Brix, pH, temperature, appearance; CO₂/DO if applicable).
• Ensure the batch meets targets before transfer; inform Shift In-charge/QA immediately if any deviation occurs.
• Follow batch release / hold instructions from QA.
3) Cleaning, CIP and hygiene (GMP)
• Execute CIP/SOP cleaning steps for tanks, lines, filters, and accessories as instructed.
• Maintain area hygiene, tools, and personal GMP (hairnet, gloves, handwash, no jewelry, etc.).
• Perform pre-start checks: line cleanliness, correct hose connections, correct valve positions, and no cross-contamination risk.
• Ensure allergen/ingredient segregation rules (if any) are followed.
4) Documentation & traceability
• Maintain complete records: batch sheets, weighing logs, CIP records, transfer logs, downtime/loss records.
• Ensure correct batch coding/identification during transfer (batch ID, tank ID, time, operator sign).
• Participate in audits and support data required for investigations.
5) Safety & compliance
• Follow safety rules for hot liquids, steam/hot water, chemicals, pressurized lines, confined spaces (as applicable).
• Use required PPE and follow chemical handling procedures (MSDS).
• Report near-misses, unsafe conditions, and equipment abnormalities immediately.
6) Continuous improvement
• Support loss reduction (spillage, rework, wrong dosing), suggest improvements for SOPs and workplace organization (5S).
• Assist in troubleshooting recurring issues: filter choking, foaming, mixing inconsistency, temperature swings, pump priming issues.
Skills & competencies
• Good hands-on ability with pumps/valves/hoses, mixing and transfers
• High discipline in weighing accuracy and record keeping
• Basic understanding of Brix/pH and process hygiene
• Ability to work in rotational shifts and coordinate with QA and filling teams
• Comfortable lifting and handling materials (as per safety norms)
