Job Description

Join the People Solutions team as Director, People Solutions Country Leader, providing strategic partnership to the India Engineering center and team.

In this role, you will lead a high-performing team of BPPs to drive strategic initiatives that result in business value and impact, ensuring that the company's People policies, programs, and initiatives are effectively implemented in India. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in HR leadership roles, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a proven track record of driving organizational success through people strategy.

This includes understanding the needs, capabilities, and development opportunities for talents within the India region, and, in partnership with other People departments (COEs), developing targeted programs to meet those needs. The role requires an individual who is strategic, hands-on, and able to build relationships across the organization.

This position will report to the VP, HR Business Partner, and is based out of Bangalore.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership with Business to deliver a coherent, game-changing talent strategy
• Pro-actively own the strategic functional-level people agenda for the organization, and engage as a trusted advisor and strategic consultant to the senior leader for mid to long-term planning
• Partner with senior leaders to advance annual business strategies through a multi-faceted people strategy and plans including workforce planning, succession planning, M&A, etc.
• Diagnose organizational design and effectiveness gaps and implement associated actions to mitigate risks

Drive and execute key global talent and people solutions priorities
• Execute the phases of WD’s integrated talent management process; own and drive expected outcomes
• Execute our key rewards, engagement, and retention programs
• Drive key talent metrics focus, reporting impact/gaps, and mitigating actions
• Act as a steward of the People Solutions model
• In partnership with ER, ensure a healthy org to mitigate any compliance/management risks

Act as a Culture Steward and Leadership Coach
• Champions WD values and knows how to integrate this into every aspect of talent/org initiatives.
• Assess, develop, and coach executives and senior leadership teams to drive high performance and potential.
• Mastery in change management initiatives with a focus on culture, leadership capabilities, and engagement
• Analyze external and internal trends and conduct regular, inclusive listening sessions to develop data-driven insights to drive optimal employee engagement and experience.
• Amplify and extend DE&I into all talent programs across the employee life cycle, in alignment with an enterprise focus
• Act as an early warning signal for executives and the People Solutions leadership team. Respond as needed to global or local crises affecting WD employees

Lead a high-performing team
• Proven capability to inspire and develop a strong, high-performing business & people partner team
• Raises the bar and drives clarity on vision, goals, and key metrics to deliver high performance and manage underperformance
• Connects the dots across multiple teams/COEs and works collaboratively to optimize and balance enterprise/function objectives
• Drives effective prioritization to work within budgets and available resources

Qualifications

REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; / Master's degree with relevant certification preferred
• 18 + years of progressive People Leadership experience, with a minimum of 5 years in Leadership roles
• Candidates from the Product Engineering / Semi-conductor Industry preferred
• Demonstrates an inclusive leadership style with an emphasis on results and developing high-performing team members
• Proven track record of influencing, leading, and facilitating strategic initiatives with multiple senior stakeholders
• Strong business acumen, understands competitor and industry dynamics, and how the business operates
• Exercises a global mindset and approaches differences with curiosity; experience working and navigating globally preferred
• Conducts diagnostics, develops strategies, and implements solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness
• Approaches problems from a systems perspective by defining connections and interdependencies, and understands how decisions have systematic consequences
• Gathers insights and data to help leaders and teams make effective decisions that drive the right outcomes
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills (including presentation skills) across levels, with an ability to persuade and influence, and the ability to build enthusiasm and commitment
• Agile and continuous learner with personal resilience and an ability to deal with ambiguity
• Goal-oriented, proactive, resourceful, accountable, and passionate about driving results
• Strong knowledge of People's best practices, employment laws, and regulations
