IIM Udaipur, established in 2011 in Rajasthan, is a leading management school in India. In addition to providing a transformational educational experience, a key element of IIMU's mission is to establish itself as a leader in management research. To achieve this, the Institute has put in place a comprehensive strategy designed to attract full-time faculty with high potential as researchers and provide them with a range of research support initiatives among India's best.
IIMU has expanded rapidly and now has over 750 students across its two-year MBA program, its one-year MBA in GSCM (Global Supply Chain Management) program, MBA in DEM (Digital Enterprise Management), and its Ph.D. program. In October 2016, IIMU moved to its permanent 300+ acre campus at Balicha, 10 km south of Udaipur. Classrooms, hostels, mess facilities, library, Wi-Fi, and other infrastructure are fully operational.
IIMU has carved out a leading role among the second generation of IIMs. In December 2018, it received accreditation from the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), thus taking its place among the top global B-schools having prestigious global accreditations like AACSB/EQUIS. With this recognition, IIM Udaipur becomes just the fourth IIM to gain this distinction, entering the ranks of IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta. By attaining accreditation in less than eight years, IIM Udaipur is now the youngest AACSB-accredited B-school in India.
IIMU is also highly ranked by NIRF, the National Institutional Ranking Framework, established by the Ministry of Education in September 2015. IIM Udaipur is ranked 18th amongst all B-Schools in 2021.
IIM Udaipur also set an educational benchmark by getting listed on the QS 2026 Masters in Management (MIM) Rankings and Financial Times (FT) MIM Ranking 2021, including top B-schools from Europe, Asia, and North America. IIM Udaipur is the only third IIM, along with IIMs Ahmedabad and Bangalore, in FT MIM Ranking for the 3rd consecutive year. The focus on high-quality research has also led us to be ranked 4th in India by UT Dallas methodology for several years.
With IIM Udaipur completing a decade since its establishment, the Board and all stakeholders such as faculty, staff, students, and alumni have put together an ambitious vision that would build on a solid foundation of becoming a globally recognized and ranked management institute. IIMU invites applications for the post of Director of IIM Udaipur. The Director provides academic leadership and ensures efficient administration of the Institute under the guidance of a highly distinguished Board of Governors. The candidate must be an eminent academician in management education, have demonstrated academic administration experience, and have produced extensive research of global quality.
Eligibility Conditions:
• The applicant's age should not be more than 60 years as of 01.01.2021.
• Must be a distinguished academic with Ph.D. or equivalent having at least fifteen years teaching or research experience and shall have worked as a Full Professor at a reputed institution for at least seven years, or shall have industry experience at a higher level for at least fifteen years.
• Must be an Indian citizen or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
Process of Selection
The Search-Cum-Selection Committee (SCSC) constituted by the Board will consider applications fulfilling the above criteria received in response to this advertisement and nominations received from eminent persons distinguished in the field of education, industry, commerce, social service, or public administration. The search-cum-selection process and appointment shall be per the IIM Act 2017 and IIM Rules 2018.
Tenure
The Director shall hold office for a contractual tenure of five years or till they complete the age of sixty-five years, whichever is earlier.
Entitlements
The Director shall be entitled to the Pay Scale in level 17, the 7th CPC, as revised from time to time by the Government of India. The Director is also entitled to variable pay based on the performance objectives set up by the Board. The Director is also authorized to draw other allowances like Dearness Allowance, etc., as may be admissible from time to time as per rules of the Government of India.
