We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Director of Accounting & Finance for our rapidly growing construction company. This high-level leadership role will be responsible for all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry, and a proven track record of financial management and strategic planning. This position reports directly to the CEO and will play a key role in the company's executive team.
Responsibilities
• Lead the accounting and finance team, overseeing all financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the company’s financial status.
• Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including federal, state, and local laws and industry regulations.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
• Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
• Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
• Evaluate and oversee all benefits negotiations, thus providing the most competitive packages for the company's employees.
• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position.
• Proven experience in financial analysis, forecasting, strategic planning, and budgeting.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
