Position Overview
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading and managing all HR functions within the hotel, ensuring alignment with Hilton’s values, policies, and service culture. This role plays a strategic and operational part in driving team member engagement, talent development, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Lead full-cycle recruitment for all departments.
Partner with department heads to identify staffing needs.
Ensure a positive candidate experience aligned with Hilton brand standards.
Manage onboarding and orientation programs.
2. Team Member Relations & Engagement
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters.
Lead engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and team-building activities.
Support conflict resolution and conduct investigations when required.
3. Training & Development
Coordinate training programs in line with Hilton standards.
Support leadership development initiatives.
Ensure compliance training (health & safety, harassment prevention, etc.) is completed.
Promote internal career growth opportunities.
4. Performance Management
Oversee performance appraisal processes.
Coach managers on performance improvement plans and documentation.
Ensure fair and consistent application of HR policies.
5. Compensation & Benefits
Support payroll processes and ensure compliance with provincial legislation.
Administer benefits programs and respond to team member inquiries.
Monitor compensation practices to maintain competitiveness and fairness.
6. Compliance & Policy Administration
Ensure compliance with Ontario Employment Standards Act and other relevant legislation.
Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
Update and implement HR policies in line with corporate guidelines.
7. Health, Safety & Wellbeing
Partner with the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
Support workplace safety programs and return-to-work processes.
Promote a culture of wellbeing and work-life balance.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
CHRP designation (preferred).
3–5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in hospitality.
Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
