Job Summary:
The Director of Procurement will lead the strategic procurement, supplier development, and global sourcing functions—ensuring the reliability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability of the materials and components that power engineered-to-order equipment. This leadership role oversees the full procurement and supply chain strategy, driving long-term sourcing initiatives, supplier performance, and operational excellence across all purchasing activities. The role is accountable for building a resilient supply base, improving cost structures, strengthening vendor partnerships, and ensuring material availability to support complex manufacturing operations and large-scale customer projects.
The ideal candidate brings senior-level procurement expertise, proven leadership capability, and a strategic mindset rooted in manufacturing, engineered systems, or industrial equipment environments.
Key Responsibilities:
● Lead the development and execution of company’s procurement and supplier strategy.
● Oversee and mentor the purchasing team, establishing KPIs and driving performance.
● Build and manage a high-quality global supplier network for critical manufacturing materials and components.
● Negotiate contracts, long-term agreements, and pricing to support cost savings and supply stability.
● Collaborate with engineering, production, and project management to forecast material needs and manage lead times.
● Ensure inventory levels meet production demands while avoiding shortages and excess.
● Resolve supplier quality issues, delivery delays, and supply chain risks.
● Maintain compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
● Lead cost-reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and value engineering.
● Monitor global market trends and supply chain risks to inform procurement decisions.
● Maintain accurate purchasing documentation, supplier performance reports, and executive-level analytics.
Qualifications
● Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related technical field.
● 7–10+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain leadership within manufacturing, automation, machinery, or industrial equipment environments.
● Proven success leading procurement teams and developing high-performing supplier partnerships.
● Strong understanding of manufacturing materials such as steel, hydraulics, electrical components, fabricated parts, and industrial assemblies.
● Demonstrated strength in strategic sourcing, negotiation, cost optimization, and contract management.
● Advanced analytical, communication, and vendor-management skills.
● Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office.
● SCMP, CPM, CPIM, or Six Sigma certification is considered a strong asset.
