Job Description
As the Director of Sales & Marketing with Martinique New York on Broadway, you are responsible for overseeing commercial strategies for the hotel – aiming to improve asset performance by connecting strategy and business processes. Working within Hilton’s Commercial Services organization, you will engage with teams driving sales, revenue, marketing, catering, events management, call centers, and analytics to drive profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce your hotel’s Annual Multi-Year Commercial Strategy Plan in partnership with on-property leaders and regional support.
• Connect the hotel’s performance needs with solutions designed by Hilton across key segments.
• Assume direct accountability for setting strategy and delivering revenue across group rooms, banquets, catering, business transient, and leisure transient segments.
• Collaborate with Commercial Leadership to implement Business Review Guidelines and Group Pricing & Rate Quotation Strategies to maximize pricing components and group market share.
• Support hotel B2B, digital, and social media marketing, along with public relations and communications; guide e-Commerce teams for accurate online hotel content.
• Work with Commercial Leaders to optimize business mix, validate revenue forecasts, and develop strategies for varying demand periods, including review and approval of pricing strategies.
• Partner with Executive Committee members to ensure profits are maximized in line with GOP and EBITDA targets.
• Develop and execute departmental expense budgets and forecasts.
• Maintain detailed, real-time knowledge of competitor and market activity.
• Execute the Sales and Catering annual SIP (Sales Incentive Program).
• Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly Sales & Marketing Optimization Processes, converting outcomes into actionable strategies.
• Contribute to the annual Commercial Cadence communication regarding performance realities and drivers.
• Uphold Hilton brand standards and corporate identity through all communication channels.
• Oversee recruiting and retention for all sales and marketing roles.
• Lead, engage, and develop team members, including ongoing performance reviews and Career Development Plans.
• Conduct performance reviews for direct and dotted-line reports across Group Sales, Business Transient Sales, Leisure Sales, Catering Sales, and Marketing.
• Foster a team culture aligned with Hilton’s DEI and ESG enterprise goals.
• Own performance and commercial activity reporting for your hotel, including performance status communications and response plans.
• Present commercial strategies to key business partners and ownership groups with transparency and timeliness, addressing performance targets and gaps.
• Liaise with Hilton Worldwide Sales, regional support, and brand teams.
• Build strong relationships with CVB, community influencers, and third-party travel partners.
• Engage high-level customers across all sales segments and support high-impact site visits and pre-convention meetings.
• Support sales managers with travel into feeder markets.
Required Qualifications
• Experience in Hotel Sales, Catering, or Marketing.
• Proven leadership management experience.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Background in hotel management or a related industry.
• Highly professional presentation and communication (oral and written) skills.
• Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to perform critical analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
• Four-year college degree preferred.
• Experience with business strategy, planning, and business plan development.
• Ability to speak multiple languages.
• Experience across multiple hotel brands.
