About the Role
Vitality Community Care is urgently seeking 3 experienced Female Disability Support Workers to support a female NDIS participant in Brisbane with complex physical and psychosocial needs.
This is a high-structure, routine-based support role suited to workers who are reliable, task-focused and able to work independently without constant direction.
You will play a critical role in maintaining the participant’s daily functioning, health, and independence through consistent, high-quality support delivery.
About the Participant
You will be supporting a high-functioning, independent woman living with complex and largely invisible disabilities, including spinal injury, chronic pain, fatigue and psychosocial conditions.
She:
Lives independently and works full-time
Manages an intensive therapy and medical schedule
Requires structured, predictable and calm support
Directs her own care - your role is to execute tasks not lead decision-making
Key Responsibilities
Support includes a mix of domestic assistance, routine support and community access, such as:
Daily Living & Household Tasks
Cleaning, laundry, meal prep (Lite n’ Easy), and home organisation
Maintaining a clean, low-tox environment (specific products required)
Pet care (cat – feeding, cleaning litter, general care)
Routine-Based Support
Following structured task lists per shift (morning, evening, weekend)
Completing tasks without repeated instruction or supervision
Supporting strict planning and predictability requirements
Transport & Community Access
Driving to appointments (physio, EP, specialist care)
Supporting social outings and community participation
Health & Recovery Support
Assisting during low-energy or pain flare days
Supporting post-procedure recovery (non-clinical support only)
Running errands (pharmacy, groceries, collections)
Shift Availability
We are recruiting for coverage across:
Weekday mornings: 6:00am – 8:00/9:00am
Weekday evenings: 5:00pm – 9:00pm
Weekends: 8:00am – 6:00pm
Weekend evenings (community access): 6:00pm – 10:00pm
Consistency is critical - preference will be given to applicants with strong availability and commitment
About You
This is not a standard support worker role. We are looking for someone who:
Is highly reliable and punctual
Can follow instructions once and retain them
Works independently without needing direction
Is calm, emotionally intelligent and non-reactive
Communicates clearly and concisely
Understands professional boundaries (friendly but not casual)
Is comfortable working in a structured, routine-driven environment
You must be able to:
Respect that disabilities may not be visible
Follow plans exactly - no improvising or shortcuts
Maintain a quiet, efficient working style
Mandatory Requirements
Female support worker (participant preference)
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current First Aid & CPR
Valid Driver’s Licence + reliable vehicle
Experience supporting participants with complex needs (highly regarded)
