Job Description
Sepal is conducting an innovative qualitative research study aimed at defining benchmarks of professional excellence in postsecondary instructional support. We invite experienced professionals to lend their expertise through structured documentation of their work, the creation of domain-specific screening criteria, and the development of high-quality case studies.
As a selected contributor, you will play a crucial role in shaping an industry-informed framework for evaluating postsecondary instructional support expertise. This would focus on practical real-world applications, decision-making processes, and professional judgment.
Ideal Participants May Hold Titles Such As:
• Graduate Teaching Assistant
• Lab Assistant
• Course Assistant
• Discussion Section Leader
• Tutorial Instructor
• Academic Support Assistant
Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in or have completed a graduate program in a relevant academic discipline
• At least 2 years of experience in a teaching assistant, tutoring, or instructional support role
• Strong understanding of course facilitation, grading practices, and student mentorship
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Fluent in English
• Access to a computer with stable internet and video conferencing capabilities
• Comfortable using remote work tools (messaging, video calls, uploading documents)
• Able to work independently and follow written instructions
What You'll Do:
• Share your professional journey, academic interests, and instructional experience
• Help define field-specific evaluation criteria used in TA hiring and performance reviews
• Document at least one substantial instructional challenge or student engagement initiative you contributed to, detailing the context, approach, challenges, and outcomes
• Participate in brief feedback or calibration sessions as needed
Compensation & Logistics:
• Compensation ranges from $30 to $55 per hour, depending on expertise and relevance, with additional bonuses for key contributions
• Position begins with a paid trial period
• Payment will be made bi-weekly, based on approved and tracked hours
• This is a fully remote and asynchronously friendly position, allowing you to work at your own pace within flexible deadlines
