Job Description
Attendance at the PIC, both online attendance and in person, to provide instructions to Legal Service Providers in litigated matters.
Manage the DRO function day to day, keeping matters moving and maintaining a customer-focused approach to dispute resolution.
Gather, assess and organise evidence by working closely with Legal Service Providers, agency clients and claims teams.
Coordinate key tasks with the Legal Team, including authorisations, reporting requirements, panel liaison and claims reviews.
Maintain an up-to-date register of active disputes, prioritise required actions and complete all follow ups within set timeframes.
Support and guide Case Managers through dispute preparation, and keep all stakeholders informed of outcomes and next steps.
Monitor case law and scheme developments, report on trends and escalate Significant Legal Matters when required.
Contribute to continuous improvement and assist the broader Legal Team with additional legal work where capacity allows.
ABOUT YOU
At least 3 years’ experience in NSW workers compensation/personal injury claims management or personal injury law in NSW
Extensive experience with NSW workers compensation dispute and litigation processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand and work with technical subject matter.
Strong technical understanding of the Workers Compensation Act (NSW) 1987, both pre and post 2012 amendments,
Extensive knowledge and the Workplace Injury Management Act (NSW) 1998 and associated Regulations, the Personal Injury Commission Rules 2021 and SIR Guidelines & SOPs.
