The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Distribution Manager to join our Visy Board team in Dandenong. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will manage all outbound freight and warehousing operations, with a focus on high service levels, safety and cost efficiency.
You will lead a team of supervisors, operators, and owner drivers, while working closely with scheduling, sales, production and external carriers. You’ll play a key role in ensuring DIFOT targets are met, inventory is well-managed, and distribution runs smoothly every day.
Key Responsibilities
Lead warehouse and finished goods dispatch operations, including inventory control, stock movements, loading and delivery.
Manage a team including day and afternoon shift Dispatch Supervisors, and owner drivers.
Maintain DIFOT >+5%, ensuring high standards of customer delivery performance.
Drive compliance with OHSE, chain of responsibility and all operational legislation.
Maintain accurate stock levels including 3PL oversight and reporting.
Control operating costs to budget, track and report on distribution P&L items.
Work with procurement, finance and external vendors to ensure efficient freight and storage.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of purchase order processes.
Oversee asset and equipment condition, rental, and repair reporting.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
What You Will Bring to the Team
Proven experience managing warehousing, transport or distribution in a manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership and people management experience.
Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal communication.
Solid understanding of inventory systems and ERP platforms (SAP preferred).
Strong knowledge of COR, OHSE compliance and warehouse operations.
Ability to manage cost controls, budgeting and supplier performance.
Forklift license desirable.
