Job Description
We are recruiting a dedicated Driver to ensure the smooth operation of our services on a full-time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week. As a Driver, you will maintain high standards of quality work and have opportunities for career progression in a company that values its employees, celebrates individuality, and rewards those who go beyond expectations.
Your shift patterns may vary, with some flexibility required. Please note that this role is contracted to 45 weeks per year.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
Participating in a team of drivers providing a service to local healthcare premises.
Complying with regulations governing driving and vehicle use on public highways and being aware of employee responsibilities under Health & Safety legislation.
Maintaining daily checks to ensure vehicles comply with legal requirements and are in good working order, reporting any defects or accidents immediately.
Ensuring the cleanliness of both the interior and exterior of vehicles at all times.
Maintaining confidentiality regarding patient information at all times.
Accurately and timely sorting of mail, collection and delivery of specimens, blood, pharmacy items, food, and other necessary items.
Communicating with terminally ill, physically handicapped, and recently bereaved individuals in their own homes.
Delivering, assembling, and installing equipment in patients' homes, demonstrating how to use it, including bath hoists and medical devices.
Working to pre-set schedules, prioritizing urgent requests for blood, drugs, medical records, and other items requested by service users.
Representing and promoting the professional image of the Trust to service users and the public.
We seek a Driver who is passionate about customer care, able to communicate effectively, and has the ability to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet business needs. The ideal candidate will have a full clean UK driving license and be willing to undergo a Disclosure & Barring Service check, costs met by the employer.
This role is subject to an estimated salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
