Are you a secondary teaching assistant immediately available for a full-time role in north Manchester?Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a confident personable secondary teaching assistant with experience of supporting teenagers who speak various languages to join the EAL department of a secondary academy in north Manchester.This is a full time, ongoing temporary role for three months initially.The RoleEnglish as an Additional Language Secondary Teaching AssistantFive days a week 8.15am - 3.30pmWorking with small groups of teenagers with various levels of English comprehension to ensure they feel settled and safe in school (many students have not been in a UK secondary school before)Working collaboratively with the Head of EAL and Head of English and SENCOA background in TEFL or ESOL is desirable but experience of supporting children aged 11 to 16 is essential.
As this role is teaching and developing English language skills, applicants must have excellent English language skills including a solid understanding of English grammar.
The SchoolLarge academy for students aged 11- 16 in north ManchesterOfsted Good Academy since November 2014Excellent facilities for teaching and learning."Students who speak English as an additional language are extremely well supported to develop their knowledge of English language, both in class and through additional support. Older students take 'English for Speakers of Other Languages' courses and qualifications, which support them well when applying for further education courses.
