Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in teaching, guiding, inspiring, and nurturing children in the early childhood program
Assist in differentiating instruction for a wide range of students' abilities and interests
Support the Lead Teacher(s) in the documentation of student learning and growth throughout the school year
Assist with the preparation and/or organization of teaching materials
Collaborate with Lead Teacher, Specials Teachers, and other Associate Teachers
Supervise students throughout the day
Speak professionally and respectfully with parents and caregivers
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
College degree or currently in college
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administration to support and extend the objectives of the curriculum.
Appreciation of a diverse, pluralistic Jewish community.
Experience providing a nurturing, creative, and inclusive environment for students and to create a strong classroom community.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40 pound child.
Often required to stand and sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or squat.
Awareness of the cognitive, social, and emotional issues of early childhood age students
Willingness to learn and grow professionally
