Benefits
Compensation: $50,000 -$55,000 annually

Responsibilities
Schedule: 8:30a - 5:00p; Monday - Friday; schedule varies depending on program needs
Purpose: The Early Childhood Education Coach will provide coaching, mentoring and other support for classroom staff based on an evidence-based coaching framework for the purpose of ensuring high quality teaching and strong child outcomes
In collaboration with Education/Inclusion Manager and Child Care Director, consistently measure classroom quality and staff’s utilization of best practice strategies, through ongoing classroom observations, analysis of data related to teaching practices, and examination of children’s progress in school readiness skills
Work jointly with Education/Inclusion Manager to compile and interpret program data (ex
child assessment, curriculum, etc.) for the purpose of determining focus areas for coaching and professional development for the program
Partner with Childcare Director and Education/ Inclusion Coach to assess all education staff to identify strengths, areas of needed support, which staff would benefit from intensive coaching
Create and implement coaching plans for identified teachers, to include focused goals and measures of success, to drive learning cycles
Establish collaborative relationships with classroom staff and support their achievement of coaching plan goals by using face-to-face and remote (e.g. via video or other technologies) coaching strategies such as, but not limited to, observing, modeling, co-teaching, side-by-side coaching, and co-planning
Support teachers’ abilities to set goals, and then reflect on and analyze their progress in achieving them
Measure effectiveness of coaching efforts by gathering and analyzing relevant data such as classroom quality, classroom staff progress and children’s progress in school readiness skills
Support the delivery of in-service and other training consistent with the Head Start Performance Standards, CYC mandates, and established training needs

Requirements

• Ability to work with diverse populations. Head Start experience and Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred.
• CLASS Reliable (preferred)
• Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, Illinois Early Learning Standards, and developmentally appropriate practices for infants.
• This position requires travel to various sites. Must have reliable transportation
