Full time hours
Permanent
£53,000 per annum

The Role;
To lead and support the operation of the James Cond Centre for Sustainable Construction campus operations working closely with the FE Vice Principal Curriculum & Skills and Head of Sustainable Construction.

Duties;
• Oversight of the efficient use of the James Cond Sustainable Construction Centre to ensure an outstanding student experience.
• Line management of the Technicians working within the Sustainable Construction Centre.
• Procure consumables and equipment required for the Sustainable Construction centre and co-ordinate the disposal of waste.
• Ensure the effective management of stock levels, spare parts and other appropriate resources.
• Lead and oversee building projects within the Sustainable Construction Centre and the maintenance of equipment including coordinating and undertaking risk assessments
• Work effectively together with the Estates team, and the Head of Sustainable Construction to deliver outstanding services to students and all stakeholders.
• Ensure student behaviour, including attendance and punctuality meets the University’s expectations.
• Work closely with the Vice Principal FE Curriculum & Skills and Head of Sustainable Construction to support with the implementation of the Student Disciplinary Process.
• Liaise with stakeholders such as the Safeguarding team the attendance team and parents, to maintain a safe environment where students are supported to achieve their full potential.
• Work closely with the Head of Sustainable Construction to monitor room and workshop utilisation and ensure an effective cover rota is in place and fully adhered to.
• Ensure effective Health and Safety management maintaining statutory compliance.
• To develop effective budgetary control techniques to deliver value for money and co-ordinate with Finance to monitor non-pay budgets.
• To adhere to all financial management processes in accordance with University Financial Regulations

Have you got what it takes?
We are therefore looking for individuals with experience in Operations Management, ideally within an education setting. This person will be a team player, be able to manage a team and have experience driving improvement.
• Experience working in a managerial capacity including direct management of personnel.
• Experience in a further education setting or equivalent
• Managing budgets efficiently and effectively
• Proven experience of coordinating complex areas, delivering outputs and driving improvements.
• Proven experience of providing an outstanding student experience
• Ability to cultivate an aspirational culture in which the team and students can thrive and grow
