Job Description
Based in the heart of York city centre, we provide a highly supportive environment for newly-qualified EFL teachers and can offer a variety of development opportunities to the right candidates.
What does the role involve?
Planning and teaching general and specialised English lessons to individuals, and groups of up to 15 students (age 14+)
Preparing interesting and appropriate materials for groups in line with agreed learning outcomes
Completion of student reports, attendance records, and other related documentation
Participation in weekly teacher planning and update meetings
Taking an active part in the students’ social programme (this is paid separately)
Education Required:
Educated to Degree Level - Essential
CELTA/Trinity CertTESOL – Essential
What do you need?
Full mastery of English across all 4 skills to CEFR C2 required
1+ year English teaching experience is preferred, but not essential
Experience of teaching online classes to individuals or groups would be useful, but is not essential
Enthusiastic and professional
Ability to motivate students
Great communication and presentation skills
Approachable, friendly, and strong interpersonal skills
Strong IT skills to enable report writing and material preparation
Commitment and reliability
