The Growing Place School in Coral Gables, Florida, seeks a joyful, collaborative Elementary School Teacher to join our program for the 2026–2027 school year. For more than 60 years, TGPS has been known for nurturing curiosity, character, and a love of learning in children. As our elementary program continues to expand, we are looking for an experienced educator who is excited to work alongside a committed faculty team to create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.

Established in 1963, The Growing Place School is a respected early childhood and elementary school serving families in the Coral Gables and greater Miami community. Recently, TGPS expanded its elementary program while remaining rooted in the school’s longstanding commitment to educating the whole child.

Position Overview
Elementary teachers at TGPS guide students through the core academic subjects while fostering intellectual curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
Educators are active members of a collaborative faculty team that shares ideas, develops curriculum, and works together to provide a joyful and engaging elementary school experience.
Responsibilities include:
• Teaching core elementary subjects (reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, science) in a student-centered classroom
• Designing engaging learning experiences that connect across disciplines
• Creating a positive classroom culture rooted in respect, kindness, and high expectations
• Collaborating with colleagues to plan curriculum and school initiatives
• Communicating regularly with families about student progress and growth
• Assessing student learning through formal and informal methods
• Participating actively in the life of the school community
This role offers the opportunity to be an instrumental voice in the elementary program within a well-established and mission-driven school.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
• State teaching certification
• Experience teaching at the elementary school level
• Strong classroom leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
• Enthusiasm for hands-on, student-centered learning
• Understanding of the developmental needs of elementary-aged children
• A growth mindset and commitment to continuous professional learning
• Alignment with and support for the school’s Christian values
