Embedded Software Engineer | Principal

Job description
Purpose

Responsible for the design and development of products for ophthalmology surgical devices.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations both internally and externally
• Assist in the development of system requirements.
• Direct and assist in the development of product prototypes.
• Lead product development activities through all aspects of the software life-cycle.
• Work collaboratively with project teams (i.e. ME, EE, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Quality) at all stages of development
• Ensure regulatory, statutory, and, legislative compliance

Qualification

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
• Knowledge of ISO, regulatory and legislative standards applicable to the development of medical devices
• Full understanding of Document and Source Control
• Effectively utilize problem solving skills and techniques to identify potential issues, assess their impact, and develop and implement mitigation and resolution plans and activities
• Proven ability to lead design teams
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of associates, management and external partners
• Proficient in C/C++
• Experience with MATLAB Simulink
• Familiar with ARM and Sharc DSP microprocessors.

Minimum Required Education And Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+10 yrs; PhD+8 yrs)
• 10 Years of Medical Device Experience
• Fluent English
