The ideal candidate will have experience counseling employers across various aspects of the employment relationship.DutiesProvide legal counsel to employers regarding employment law matters, including compliance, disputes, and policy development.Advise on employment issues from mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, employee handbooks, and other documents.Represent clients in employment-related litigation, including disputes involving wrongful termination, discrimination, and wage and hour claims.Conduct legal research and provide strategic recommendations on complex employment law issues.Stay current with employment law and regulations changes to ensure compliance and offer informed guidance.Collaborate with other legal professionals and departments within the firm to deliver comprehensive legal services.RequirementsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Active license to practice law in Illinois.Minimum of 3 years of experience in employment counseling, focusing on mergers, acquisitions, and corporate transactions.Proven track record of successfully managing employment-related legal issues and litigation.EducationJD degree from an accredited law school.CertificationsAdmission to the Illinois State Bar.SkillsStrong knowledge of employment law and regulations, particularly in the context of corporate transactions.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and negotiation skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.Proven experience in employment litigation and counseling.Proficiency in legal research and writing.
