Position Summary
The position involves didactic and clinical teaching responsibilities at the predoctoral and postdoctoral levels. Hours range from 8/16 hours per week. This position will report to the Department Head of Endodontics and will consult with the Directors of Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Endodontics as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Assists the program director and faculty with completion of tasks related to department curriculum development and administration.
• Direct and observational teaching, including specialty and sub-specialty training to undergraduate students and residents; evaluate student clinical performance as required by associated accrediting agencies; and patient care.
• Provide instruction along a spectrum of formats including but not limited to: classroom teaching, laboratory instruction, online courses, field work, training workshops, and conferences; grading; advising students; serving on dissertation committees and other faculty committees as appropriate.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• DDS/DMD or equivalent
• Certificate of completion from a CODA approved Advanced Specialty
Education Program in Endodontics.
• Board eligible
• Current Illinois Dental License (or ability to obtain a limited teaching license)
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree (M.S. or PhD)
• Previous evidence of scholarly activity and publications
• At least 2 years of teaching experience
• Board certified in Endodontics
