Your Impact:
StreetLight Data is seeking an Engineering Operations Analyst to be a part of our growing Engineering team. This team member will work closely with other StreetLight team members, our SaaS application, and our application's users. By becoming an expert on our application’s infrastructure, engineering processes, and development tools - this team member will identify, communicate, and help implement changes and improvements to a variety of StreetLight’s systems and applications. This person will report to the Senior Director, Operations and IT.
Responsibilities:
StreetLight InSight® Application Monitoring & Resource Management
o Familiarize yourself with how customers use InSight® and stay up to date as new features are deployed.
o Monitor platform capacity, customer usage, and other performance metrics of the application.
o Recommend, design, and implement new alerts to improve platform stability and customer experience.
o Report on application usage, resource capacity, and other key performance indicators.
o Advocate for application changes and improvements.
Application Incident Reporting & Customer Communication
o File and track new incidents from discovery through deployment.
o Support Application Engineering investigations into new incidents and alerts.
o Communicate platform issues, temporary solutions, and relevant updates to our application’s users.
Cloud Cost Tracking & Management
o Gather and communicate cloud cost data to various teams and executives.
o Design and implement spending monitoring and alerts.
o Investigate and propose methods for reducing cloud cost across our cloud infrastructure.
Work Collaboratively with Engineering & Product Management
o Provide IT and DevOps support to Engineering projects within our cloud environment.
o Resolve DevOps and IT requests in a timely fashion.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
BS or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, or an Engineering discipline
Must be a quick learner, self-motivated, and a team-player
Required: Ability to learn new things and concepts on your own
Very strong English written and verbal communication skills
o Required: Must be comfortable communicating with customers, peers, and executives
2+ years of experience with programming languages
o A plus: Experience with Python, Bash, Ansible, and JavaScript
2+ years of experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools
o A plus: Experience with Looker Studio, Looker, or Tableau
o A plus: Experience with cloud cost billing and management
Must be comfortable working within a Command-Line Interface
1+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL
