Silver Fern Farms Pareora is seeking a quality English language educator who will deliver a pilot program to processing staff.
This is a part-time position of approximately 8 hours across two consecutive days per week for a 12 week period with the training to be conducted at our Pareora site. There may be the opportunity to continue the program with additional hours each week should the pilot program give us the required outcomes.
This opportunity might interest a retired former English teacher or a part time teacher looking to bolster their work week.
The program is already developed, you just need to have the drive, patience and passion to deliver the content in a way that both engages the participants and builds their confidence, so they feel free to actively participate in discussions.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and effective English language lessons to participants of various levels.
Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage and motivate the learners.
Evaluate participant progress and provide feedback.
Administer assessments to measure student baselines, progress and achievement.
Work collaboratively and flexibly with the site management team.
Maintain records of participant attendance, performance, and achievement.
Requirements
Experience teaching English language (including for entry level learners)
Be skilled in conversational teaching as well as formal learning
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills alongside positivity, empathy and structure.
Good attention to detail and the ability to plan and be flexible
Awareness or the willingness to become aware of the customs and behaviours of different nationalities.
