Job Description
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons across a range of subjects and age groups
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils who may require additional help with learning, including those with special educational needs (SEN)
Support students’ emotional, social, and academic development in line with school policies
Help prepare and organise classroom resources, displays, and learning materials
Supervise students during class activities, breaks, and outings, ensuring a safe and engaging environment
Support the teacher with classroom management and promote positive behaviour among pupils
Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to the teacher
Help implement personalised learning plans and differentiated activities
Encourage and promote pupils’ independence, confidence, and self-esteem
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals when required

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, caring, and approachable with a genuine interest in education
Able to build positive relationships with children and staff
Organised, reliable, and able to follow instructions effectively
Capable of managing challenging behaviour and maintaining focus in the classroom
Basic understanding of child safeguarding and classroom health & safety
Desirable Qualifications:
Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance
Experience working in an educational setting
