Enterprise IT Architect – Platforms, Integration & Governance
Role: Enterprise IT Architect
Reporting line: Director Agile Delivery & Governance
Role Purpose
The Enterprise IT Architect defines, governs, and evolves the enterprise-wide IT architecture to support scalable, secure, and cost-effective digital platforms. The role ensures architectural consistency across business units and delivery teams while enabling innovation and agile execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and maintain enterprise architecture principles, standards, and target-state architectures.
• Own architecture governance across the organization, ensuring alignment with business strategy and platform roadmaps.
• Design and govern enterprise-wide standards for:
• Cloud and hosting platforms
• Integration and API architecture
• Data and analytics
• Security-by-design and identity concepts
• Guide solution architects and delivery teams through architecture reviews, design decisions, and lifecycle governance.
• Ensure architectural compliance across projects, platforms, and vendors.
• Drive technology standardization and rationalization to reduce complexity and technical debt.
• Partner with Agile Delivery to ensure architecture supports fast, predictable, and resilient delivery.
• Support build-vs-buy decisions, technology evaluations, and vendor architecture assessments.
• Contribute to risk management by identifying architectural, security, and scalability risks early.
• Maintain architecture documentation, roadmaps, and reference architectures in an audit-ready manner.
Qualifications & Experience
• Strong experience in enterprise architecture or senior solution architecture roles within large, complex IT landscapes.
• Proven expertise in modern enterprise platforms (cloud, integration, APIs, ERP/CRM ecosystems).
• Hands-on experience with architecture governance models and standards.
• Strong understanding of security, scalability, and resilience in enterprise systems.
• Ability to influence without direct authority across distributed teams.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into business-relevant decisions.
