Join Our Team as an entry level audit assistant
Are you a driven CPA candidate with a BS in Accounting looking to grow your career in a dynamic, mid-size CPA firm? We’re seeking a entry level audit assistant to join our Escondido team. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in financial auditing and compliance, with mentorship from experienced professionals.
What You’ll Do
Assist in planning and executing audit engagements to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
Review financial statements, perform reconciliations (e.g., inventory, sales, payroll), and verify transaction accuracy.
Prepare detailed audit documentation, draft reports, and communicate findings under the guidance of senior auditors.
Collaborate with clients to gather documentation, resolve queries, and support smooth audit processes, including occasional fieldwork at client sites.
Assist in preparing tax-related documents and support risk assessments for clients across various industries.
Contribute to team efforts by mentoring interns and ensuring timely completion of audit assignments.
What We’re Looking For
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution.
Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience (internships in auditing or accounting preferred).
Certifications: CPA candidate actively pursuing licensure (progress toward 150 semester hours and/or CPA exam a plus).
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify financial discrepancies.
Exceptional attention to detail for accurate financial record review.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with QuikBooks, and Engagement Manager is preferred.
Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Location Requirement: Must be able to work in Escondido, CA, with flexibility for hybrid arrangements.
