The role is integral to the successful delivery of projects, impacting both operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation:
Develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for EPC projects, covering materials, labor, equipment, and overheads. Utilize industry best practices and historical data to ensure precision and reliability.

Collaborate with Project Teams:
Work closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to review project scopes, specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate bid proposals and estimates.

Risk Analysis:
Identify potential risks and incorporate contingency plans into cost estimates to address uncertainties in scope, timeline, and project execution.

Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination:
Engage with vendors and subcontractors to gather cost information, review quotes, and assess supplier performance in alignment with project specifications.

Prepare Bid Packages:
Prepare and present bid packages, including detailed breakdowns of labor, material, and equipment costs, to senior management for review and approval.

Maintain Cost Databases:
Ensure that cost data, including historical cost records and benchmarking information, is regularly updated and maintained for future project reference.

Assist in Contract Negotiations:
Support the project management team during contract negotiations by providing accurate cost-related information and assisting with the evaluation of bid proposals.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in estimating for EPC projects, preferably in industries such as petrochemical, oil and gas, or manufacturing.

Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction processes.

Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as ProEst, Sage Estimating, or similar.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.

High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to analyze large volumes of data and identify key cost drivers.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Familiarity with project management software, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

Experience with a variety of project types, including industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects.

Reporting Structure:
The Estimator - EPC will report to the Senior Estimator or Estimating Manager. This role involves regular collaboration with the engineering, procurement, and project management teams, but does not have direct reports.
