About the role
As the Every Body Active Team Leader, you will be enthusiastic about creating and leading the Every Body Active programs and initiatives. These include the Every Body Active 1:1 Support Program, the Every Body Active Group classes, Basketball Unlimited and initiatives to promote access and Inclusion.
You will be able to develop and maintain strong partnerships with Disability Day Services in our local community as well as other key stakeholders and government organisations related to the goals of this role.
You will have a strong ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver diverse and inclusive programs to our members, guests and the community at Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC), Caulfield Recreation Centre (CRC) and the new Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool.
In this role you will assist the Programs Coordinator with training, development and mentoring of staff and providing benevolent programs to our Glen Eira community.
Other responsibilities include:
Team Leadership: Train, supervise, mentor and provide leadership to the Every Body Active Supervisor and Every Body Active Support Officers in your team.
Program Management: Oversee the day to day running of the Every Body Active Programs across Glen Eira Leisure, including Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC), Caulfield Recreation Centre (CRC) and Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool.
Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date with the needs of our community and look for opportunities to engage those who face barriers to active participation in their local leisure facilities.
Roster Management: Organise, manage and monitor staff rosters to ensure all Every Body Active programs across GEL are fully staffed.
Service Delivery: Where needed, provide direct service.
Collaboration: work with the other departments within council, GEL and our community to create and promote our services and facilities.
Reporting: Provide regular reporting of the Every Body Active programs to the Coordinator and assist in the development of the department’s annual business plan.

Qualifications and Experience
Experience in leading, developing and managing a team
Experience in disability support or related role
Experience developing, delivering and/or overseeing benevolent programs or initiatives.
A strong understanding of community needs and what programs, initiatives and services will meet those needs.
Current Provide First Aid Level 2 and CPR qualifications (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
