Experienced Female Support Worker – Complex Needs
Location: Canberra, ACT
Employment Type: Casual
Hours: 6 – 25 hours per week (with potential for more for the right person)
Pay Rate: $37 – $42 per hour (depending on experience)
About Us
Primo Care Disability Services is a Canberra-based NDIS provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support to individuals living with disability. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced female support worker to join our team in supporting a participant with complex support needs.
About the Role
You will be working one-on-one with a participant who requires structured, consistent support due to complex behavioural and psychosocial needs. The role requires a calm, confident and compassionate professional who can implement positive support strategies, establish strong rapport, and maintain clear boundaries.
Key Responsibilities
Provide reliable and consistent support with daily living tasks
Support the participant’s emotional regulation and goal progression
Promote independence and community participation
Engage in activities that encourage routine, structure and stability
Communicate effectively with the participant’s team, including family and therapists
Maintain professional boundaries and thorough documentation
Essential Criteria
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in disability or mental health support
Proven ability to work with participants with complex needs or behaviours of concern
Female support worker only (due to participant preference)
Excellent communication, patience and interpersonal skills
Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, and weekends
Qualifications and Requirements
NDIS Worker Screening Check
First Aid and CPR Certificate
Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
NDIS Orientation Module (or willingness to complete)
Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services or relevant field (preferred)
