Job Description
We are a small and very unique centre in Fyshwick, Canberra, offering a a special care unit for babies and young children who have chronic medical conditions as well as a mainstream childcare unit for long day care. Stella Bella Children's Centre is owned by the well-respected local children's charity, Stella Bella Foundation. We have a lovely group of educators and children in our centre and have beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces to play, grow and learn in.
We are looking for a very experienced educator who can provide extra support to children in our care who have chronic medical conditions. This can include tube and peg feeding, oxygen support, seizure management and administration of medications. Confidence and the ability to be able to understand and follow medical action plans precisely is an essential part of this role as is providing quality education and care for children, regardless of their extra needs.

If you would like to join our team, you will need the following:
Proven experience working with children with complex medical conditions.
A passion for providing meaningful, nourishing and child safe early childhood experiences for children, regardless of any special care requirements they may have.
A Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. We are not accepting Graduate Diplomas for those role.
Current first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma certifications
Current Child Protection training certification
Minimum 4 years hands on experience working in the early childhood setting with children from 1-5 years of age
Excellent written and spoken English skills
A willingness to learn about and embrace the Stella Bella care and learning philosophies and to adhere to them in all of your daily activities with, and around, the children
Excellent organization and time management skills
A commitment to keep learning to add to your skills and to stay up to date with best practice in early education and care.
A healthy respect for a cohesive team culture, lots of initiative, energy, an open mind, a kind heart and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of care and learning for the children in our care, and care for our centre.
