Job Description
Morson Talent is recruiting a Principal Fire and Explosion Safety Engineer for a contract position that requires 2-3 days of on-site work per week at our client's facility in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.
Main Responsibilities:
Take a lead role in Fire & Explosion Safety Engineering (DSEAR) risk assessments and compliance activities.
Coordinate the work programs of team members to meet strategic explosion safety objectives.
Develop and manage the fire safety team across multiple projects for buildings and submarine platforms.
Mentor and develop engineers within the team.
Monitor, record, and report against key performance indicators for Explosion Safety.
Develop, produce, and maintain Explosion Safety process documentation and management strategies.
Produce and review explosion strategies and risk assessments.
Support the development of commissioning strategies for explosion safety systems.
Prepare proposals for packages of work.
Review engineering documentation relevant to Explosion Safety.
Provide support during regulatory inspections.
Chair explosion safety workshops and working groups.
Requirements:
Experience in explosion safety engineering.
DSEAR risk assessment production skills.
Strong understanding of Hazardous Area Classification (HAC).
Proven ability to implement business processes and achieve strategic objectives.
Passion for safety and commitment to ongoing professional development.
Desirable Skills:
COMAH (Safety Case support) experience.
