Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
• Practical Training: Conduct hands-on training sessions focused on embroidery, stitching, and tailoring, covering a wide range of garment construction techniques.
• Stitching Techniques: Teach a variety of stitches, both manual and machine-based, including basic, decorative, and specialized techniques.
• Sewing Machine Operation: Educate trainees on operating sewing machines and other relevant equipment, ensuring adherence to safety practices.
• Garment Construction: Train students in pattern making, fabric cutting, and garment assembly.
• Curriculum Development: Assist in creating, reviewing, and improving the stitching curriculum, ensuring alignment with industry standards and local needs.
• Lesson Delivery: Prepare and deliver lesson plans, presentations, and instructional materials tailored to different learner levels.
• Customized Training: Adapt training content for different skill levels, from beginners to advanced learners.
• Assessment: Evaluate trainees' progress through practical demonstrations, assignments, and assessments, providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of trainee attendance, performance, and feedback.
• Equipment Management: Set up and maintain tools, materials, and machines required for training sessions. Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and troubleshoot any issues.
• Learning Environment: Manage the training environment, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and an atmosphere conducive to effective learning.
• Student Retention: Conduct dropout visits and work on strategies to improve student retention rates.
• Placement Support: Collaborate with the skill development center’s placement team to assist trainees in securing employment or starting their own business.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Educational Qualification: ITI or Diploma in a relevant trade (minimum 1-year duration).
• Experience: 2-5 years of practical experience in the fabric and apparel industry.
• Age: Any
• Skills: Proficiency in garment construction, stitching techniques, and equipment handling. Strong communication and teaching skills.
