We are recruiting for a full-time Facilities, Health & Safety Manager in Bridgnorth. The ideal candidate will have extensive prior experience in maintaining and developing an Occupational Health and Safety policy, ideally within a manufacturing or automotive environment and proven skills in maintaining workplace facilities.

The role of Facilities, Health & Safety Manager:

Health & Safety

· Developing & maintaining Occupational Health and Safety Policy and governance arrangements.

· Developing & maintaining a health and safety management system that reflects legal and good practice standards.

· Developing & maintaining a process for health and safety inspections and audits to monitor performance. Measure and report health and safety performance.

· Identifying hazards and completing risk assessments / incident investigations.

· Aligning health and safety decision-making with business decision-making and risk management.

· Advising on the maintenance and improvement of safe systems of work

· Training and educating SNG Group colleagues to enhance health and safety culture in the organisation.

Facilities

· Overseeing facility-based activities including security, parking, cleaning, building works etc.

· Supervising cleaning staff and external contractors carrying out building projects, renovations and maintenance.

· Ensuring all facilities meet environmental, health and security standards.

· Leading SNG Group sustainability / energy efficiency activities.

· Working with Finance to manage insurance for building and contents.

· Managing company vehicles.

· Ensuring that facilities / amenities, such as water, heating, air-con etc, are well-maintained.

· Ensuring that all factory and office waste is processed in line with required standards.

· Advising / supporting office and equipment moves.

Working hours:

Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week) between the core hours of 08:00 and 18:00.

Essential skills, qualities, and experience of the Facilities, Health & Safety Manager:

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

• Strong organisational skills.

• Able to work under pressure / make decisions / solve problems as they arise.

• Adaptability.

• Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships.

Facilities, Health & Safety Manager Desirable skills, qualities, and experience:

· Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) (or similar) accreditation.

· Diploma / degree (or equivalent) in occupational health and safety or environmental health.

· An understanding of finance and being able to manage a budget.

· Experience of working in a Continuous Improvement culture and using Lean tools & techniques [highly desirable].
