Overview:
We are currently seeking Factory Workers to join our team for August at Jam Inns Ice in Fishponds. This ad is for a weekend worker 8am - 12pm Saturday & Sunday each weekend through August.
The role involves bagging ice 4 hours per day from the machines & organising them in the walk in freezer room.
Ice also needs to be prepped for deliveries. This is a very physical job & a good level of strength & fitness is required. Each bag is 10kg & you will be bagging & handling multiple tonnes per day on a 4 hour shift. This won't be a standing around or sitting down job it's going to be 4 hours of hard work.
There will be a £50 bonus at the end of August paid if all weekend shifts for August are completed in full with no late starts.
This would suit a student looking for summer holiday work. There will be many opportunities for future work if you are permanently Bristol based after August there is the possibility to discuss Saturday work on a permanent basis.
The role will mostly be working alone without supervision so a mature & professional work ethic & ability to carry out a task & be left to it is essential.
We would advise if you are not of a good level of fitness this job would not be suitable for you due to the nature of the payloads you would be carrying. If you are physically fit & looking for a summer job this could be a great job for you.
We are happy for you to stick your headphones on, listen to music & crack on with the physical job of bagging ice. However no phone calls during shift, no texting during shift. Just 4 hours of focused, physical work & then you won't need the gym after!
We are a small company, we are not an Amazon warehouse with a 1,000 staff. You will come in, mostly work alone, do your 4 hour job & just have some minimal communication with the drivers coming in for loading & the owner to check in each day a start & end of the shifts.
Pay 18 - 20 years olds = £10 per hour
21+ = £12.21 per hour
PLUS BONUS £50 if all weekend shifts are complete for August & you arrive on time for each shift.
