Busy Family Looking for a Friendly, Experienced Family Assistant/Household Manager for their home in Chicago, IL!
About The Family:They are a warm and welcoming family with two energetic and delightful children-a +-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy. The home is a bustling place where Mom works full-time and Dad is mostly home with the kids. They are looking for a friendly, organized, and proactive Family Assistant to join their team and help keep the household running smoothly. They also have a sweet medium-sized dog who is very friendly.
Job Description: As their Family Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the household operates efficiently. Your responsibilities will include managing the children's schedules, driving to/from activities as needed, handling household laundry, light housekeeping, meal planning and prep (cooking is a huge PLUS), running errands, and assisting with various organizational projects. A reliable and flexible individual who can be a "third set of hands" to support this wonderful family.
Key Responsibilities:
• Children's Schedules: Coordinate and manage the children's activities, play dates, and after-school programs.
• Laundry: Handle laundry for the children and the household's towels and sheets.
• Meal Planning & Prep: Plan and prepare meals; cooking skills are a great bonus!
• Errands: Run errands such as grocery shopping, post office trips, and pharmacy. Use of a car will be provided.
• Transportation Assistance: Help with school drop-offs/pick-ups and after-school activities, and stay with one child when needed.
• Travel Coordination: Assist with planning and organizing family trips and occasionally travel with the family.
• House Sitting: Oversee the house when the family is traveling if not accompanying them.
• Organizational Projects: Organize the pantry, children's closets, seasonal clothing, and the basement playroom.
Additional Information:
• The children are in school from approximately 8:30 am to 3:30/4:00 pm during the school year, with activities following.
• A deep cleaning crew handles all deep cleaning weekly, including changing sheets and making beds.
• Flexibility to stay later when Mom travels for work is appreciated.
• The family will be traveling intermittently during the summer, with the kids attending various camps.
• Occasionalhelpwith party planning
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in a similar role preferred.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to cook and prepare meals is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and great with children.
• Comfortable with pets, particularly dogs.
