The Assessment Process
We require you to respond to the following 3 questions:
1. Circular Fashion
Circular fashion is a design approach that prioritizes sustainability and reduces waste by using existing materials. It involves creatively repurposing and upcycling old or discarded materials into new, functional products.
2. Creative Upcycling Challenge
Using a Men's Denim Jeans (32W) and a Women's Cotton Tee (size M), propose three unique products you could create from these items. Explain your reasoning behind each product idea.
3. Portfolio Submission
Please provide a PDF or link to a Drive document showcasing your past work related to fashion design, textiles, or creative reuse of materials.
Job Role Description
We seek a part-time, remote circular fashion designer who can:
• Conceptualize and illustrate upcycled fashion collections or accessory ideas using post-consumer textiles
• Develop detailed specification sheets for each design proposal, including measurements, materials, construction methods, and estimated costs
• Translate circular design principles into functional, visually appealing product ideas
• Collaborate with our team to ensure design feasibility and alignment with production goals
Role Expectations
• Deliver 2–3 design proposals per month
• Submit illustration, specification sheet, and costing estimate for each proposal
• Focus on utilizing only post-consumer garments for all designs
• Research emerging trends in upcycling, surface techniques, and modular fashion design
• Presentation of storytelling or styling approaches where applicable
Required Qualifications
• Fashion Design and Fashion Styling skills
• Graphic Design skills
• Textiles and Sewing Skills
• Strong attention to detail and creativity
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment
• Prior experience or coursework in fashion design is an asset
• Completed at least a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field
