Mahalaxmi Collections was founded in year 2000. We are a leading Indian Ethnic wear Manufacturing company headquartered in Mumbai. We are a 200+ membered company as of 2026 and still growing. Design innovation, research and development belonging to the ethnic origin and executing its high-quality large-scale manufacturing form are fundamental and core strengths of the company. The company has 3 manufacturing sites across Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Fashion Designer – Key Roles & Responsibilities
· Create mood boards to show to clients
· Research, plan and develop ranges, often based on a theme
· Work with others in the design team, such as buyers and forecasters, to develop products to meet a brief.
· Liaise closely with buying and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure items suit the customer, market and price points
· Fabric, Print, Embroidery development in coordination with the vendors
· Understand design from a technical perspective, i.e. producing patterns and technical specifications like fabric and garment performance test for each design / orders
· Managing pre-production activities – Fit, testing and pre-production samples
· Create and maintain Time and Action Plan for each orders from design development to Pre-production stage.
· Conduct PP meeting with the factory before commencement of the manufacturing
· Approving lab dips before procuring the bulk
· Well verse with cost structures and consumptions of each order
· Visit trade shows and manufacturers to source, select and buy fabrics, trims, fastenings and embellishments
· Adapt existing designs for mass production
· Develop a pattern that is cut and sewn into sample garments and supervise the creation of these, including fitting, detailing and adaptations
· Oversee pre – production
Train potential candidates to work within a set standard operating protocol to streamline each activity involved in development and production.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
