The perfect candidate should possess a minimum of one year of experience in Fashion Design and Production, with a strong emphasis on precision and meeting deadlines. Proficiency in pattern design for prints is also a must.
As a member of our creative team situated in Haymarket, you will have the opportunity to explore various roles within our forward-thinking company. The selected candidate will be pivotal in our online and wholesale business operations.
Your exciting responsibilities will encompass:
- Curating a mood board to guide seasonal direction
- Exploring and shaping trends
- Crafting prints and repeat patterns
- Selecting and specifying fabrics
- Designing multiple options for approval
- Creating and specifying styles for each season across 2 brands
- Configuring styles for tech packs and managing SKUs with precision and efficiency
- Overseeing the entire fashion design process through to production
- Compiling technical packs for costing based on samples and photos
- Steering sample approvals, including Fit / PP / Shipment, while adhering to deadlines
- Preparing and submitting accurate spec sheets and comments to our off-shore offices and factories
- Managing cost and production quotes for off-shore suppliers
- Organizing and maintaining sample rails, filing samples as required
- Attending fit sessions when necessary
- Measuring PPS samples to specification from off-shore factories
- Recording all details meticulously for Pattern Makers to review
- Clearly identifying any disparities between the requested sample spec and actual sample measures
- Blending creative and technical skills
- Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with production personnel and the internal team
- Thriving under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrating exceptional organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Maintaining a neat, tidy, and OH&S-compliant workspace consistently
Skills and Experience:
- Possession of a Fashion and Textiles undergraduate degree or diploma
- Over 1 year of experience in Garment Tech Pack handling
- More than 1 year in fashion design (preferably Menswear)
- Sound knowledge of garment construction in menswear
- Sharp attention to detail and adept problem-solving skills
- Advanced Illustrator skills
- Photoshop skills
- 3D design/pattern-making skills are highly regarded but not essential
- Proficiency in MS Excel
