Position Type: Seasonal Employment Full-Time (8 weeks)
Schedule: 35 hours per week
Reporting to: Interim Director, Finance

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, and financial statements while ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
Support daily financial operations including disbursements, revenue tracking, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Help process expense claims, vendor payments, and staff reimbursements while verifying supporting documentation.
Compile, review, and analyze monthly financial reports including revenue, expenditures, and budget variances.
Maintain organized financial records, digital files, and supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness.
Provide operational coverage during staff absences by assisting with routine finance functions under supervision.
Assist with preparations for audits, tax filings, compliance checks, and financial forecasting.
Participate in special finance-related projects, such as system improvements, data clean-up, or workflow optimization.
Support the finance team with administrative tasks including data entry, document preparation, and correspondence.
Perform additional finance or administrative duties as assigned to enhance learning and support department needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Enrolled in or completed a college program in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
Previous experience (e.g., internships, volunteer work, or coursework) in finance, accounting, or financial analysis, with a basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Interest in working within a mission-driven, non-profit environment.
