About the Role:
The role of the Finance Manager is of utmost importance in assisting the GM and Founder/CEO. It involves providing vital information to facilitate swift and informed decision-making, as well as ensuring the smooth functioning of both office and financial operations.
This position requires an individual who is well-prepared and enjoys being actively involved in overseeing various aspects, such as managing the small office, handling bookkeeping, finance, invoicing, and reporting. Simultaneously, the role demands a strategic perspective to assess priorities, create and interpret effective reports, and offer valuable insights to expedite decision-making processes.
Given the modest team size of only 15 members, the Finance Manager should be a collaborative team player willing to pitch in wherever assistance is needed.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Provide timely and useful regular reports to the General Manager to ensure reliable information and analysis and ongoing pulse checks on key performance indicators.
Business performance analysis and cashflow reporting.
Payroll.
Accounts Receivable and Payable.
Manage and continuously improve the Company finance function and work closely with the external accountant to maintain compliance.
Preparation of budgets and KPIs.
Provision of full year forecasts on a periodic basis.
Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the daily accounting function and systems.
Management of month end close and reconciliation process.
Prepare cash flow forecasts and management of the overall cash and working capital position.
Accurately prepare the annual financial statements and tax returns for external accountants.
Monitor and coordinate insurance to ensure relevant insurance in place and kept up to date.
Manage leases and facilities maintenance and requirements.
Oversee the office and basic HR back end support requirements such as contracts, employment documentation, onboarding and Performance Development Review processes.
Identify and communicate emerging issues, trends and concerns to the leadership team and assist in implementing agreed remedial action.

5+ years prior experience in similar role.
Highly proficient with systems and reporting.
Competent and confident with payroll, accounts payable and receivable.
Sound knowledge and understanding of accounting principles involved in all the areas that form part of the preparation of the financial statements, reports, budgeting and monitoring and projecting cash flow.
Strength in developing meaningful, friendly to read management reports highlighting key trends.
Excellent Excel skills, tech-savvy and proficient in various tech stack programs.
Able to work to deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Team player prepared to help out in any area.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, be highly self-motivated and able to multi task.
Relevant industry experience.
Service focused and proven experience in continually improving and streamlining services that enhance performance and processes.
Exceptional stakeholder management capability with a strength in internal and external customer service skills.
Positive leader who is proactive and solution orientated with a "can do" approach.
Desire to stay long term and continue to grow with the company.
